Rotor

A rotor is the oscillating weight in an automatic watch movement that winds the mainspring as the watch is worn. It rotates with wrist movement and transfers energy through the automatic winding system. Rotors may be replaced when worn, loose, noisy, damaged, rubbing against the caseback, or missing from an automatic movement.
