Founded in 1924, Venus was a highly respected Swiss movement manufacturer, particularly renowned for its high-quality chronograph movements. The brand was a key competitor to Valjoux and supplied calibres to many prominent watch brands during the mid-20th century. Its most famous movements include the manual-wind Venus 175 and Venus 178, which powered countless iconic chronographs. Venus also developed the first column-wheel automatic chronograph movement, the Venus 188 (later Valjoux 7730). While not a watch brand itself, Venus's movements are highly prized by collectors and represent a golden era of chronograph development.
