ETA
Founded in 1793, ETA SA Manufacture Horlogère Suisse is the largest manufacturer of watch movements in Switzerland, a subsidiary of the Swatch Group. ETA movements are the backbone of the Swiss watch industry, powering countless watches from entry-level to luxury brands. While not producing watches under its own name, its movements are legendary for their reliability, accuracy, and ease of service. Famous movements include the automatic ETA 2824-2, the chronograph ETA 7750 Valjoux, and the Powermatic 80, known for its extended power reserve. ETA's contribution to horology is foundational, ensuring the continued success of Swiss watchmaking.
Complete Movement
A complete movement is the full internal mechanism of a watch, including the parts needed to power, regulate, and display the time. Depending on the type, it may be mechanical, automatic, quartz, or chronograph-based. Complete movements are useful for repairs, restoration, donor parts, or movement swaps when the original mechanism is missing, damaged, incomplete, or beyond economical repair.
